Since over 10 years I live in the Sinai Desert, where I spent more than 150 days completely alone - an unspeakable experience... I lived many years among the Bedouins and their camels. From 1994 onwards I organise meditative journeys through the Desert. In 2004 I will do a quantum leap, organising a GREAT MEDITATIVE CAMELTRECK ACROSS THE DESERT OF SINAI IN 24 DAYS (20 September - 14 October 2004). Please visit my website to get more information! Welcome to the Silence and the Peace of the Desert! Sabera

I've been collecting camel memorabilia for several years, have over 200 items, including a 100-pound concrete garden statue. This site really has a lot of interesting information. I'm hoping to make a family visit to the Benicia (CA) Camel Musuem next year--I can hardly wait!

I'm looking for camel owners in the Oregon/Washington area. I'm researching ancient Mongolian arts, and have just got started making felt. My friend gave me a sample of camel-fiber she got from the Alaska Zoo when she lived up there, and I made some felt out of it, but I want to try to do more. Any Camel-owners in Oregon want to exchange some of their camel-shed for a custom camel-felt hat or bowl?

A truly unique site, Thank you. Although I have only ever ridden horses, I have always had a great respect for camels. I have to say that I admire the camels independence of man. Which is not to say that they cannot make very good companions. They always give me the impression that they look down on all other species. (at 7+ feet in height I suppose this is to be expected) :-))
