This saddle came from the Sinai of Egypt. The saddle bag is made of wool and is very traditional. It slips over the two pommels of the saddle to stay in place. The saddle itself is made from 2 forks in trees (known locally in Arabic as "tarfa") and connected with 4 other pieces of wood. The two pads underneath simply sandwich the hump and are stuffed with straw or palm leaves. Courtesy of Doug Baum of the Texas Camel Corps
